OVERVIEW:
Epitalon (also spelled Epithalon) is a synthetic tetrapeptide composed of four amino acids: Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly
Developed by Professor Vladimir Khavinson at the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology
Derived from Epithalamin, a natural peptide complex from the pineal gland

Extends cellular lifespan beyond the Hayflick limit
Restores melatonin production and circadian rhythm
Reduces oxidative stress and chromosomal aberrations
Supports immune function and thymus health
Inhibits tumor development and metastasis
USES:
Anti-aging and longevity optimization
Telomere maintenance and cellular rejuvenation
Sleep quality and circadian rhythm regulation
Age-related vision conditions (retinitis pigmentosa, macular degeneration)
Cancer prevention research
Immune system support
Neuroprotection and brain health
EPITALON RESEARCH
Telomerase Activation and Telomere Elongation: Epitalon induces telomere elongation via increased telomerase activity in human somatic cells. Elongation of telomeres by epitalon was sufficient to surpass the Hayflick limit in cell cultures, extending their proliferative potential from termination at the 34th passage, demonstrating remarkable cellular rejuvenation effects.
Human Clinical Longevity Data: A human prospective cohort study on 266 people over age 60 demonstrated that treatment with epithalamin produced a 1.6-1.8-fold reduction in mortality during the following 6 years, a 2.5-fold reduction when combined with thymalin, and a 4.1-fold reduction when combined with thymalin and administered annually.
Multi-Pathway Geroprotector: Unlike most interventions that target a single hallmark of aging, Epitalon acts on five: telomere maintenance, epigenetic regulation, oxidative stress resilience, immune recalibration, and circadian rhythm restoration, making it one of the broadest-reaching peptides studied in longevity science.
Chromosomal Protection: Epitalon treatment significantly reduced the incidence of chromosomal aberrations in both wild-type and accelerated-aging mice, consistent with increases in telomere length. In human tuberculosis patients, epitalon exerted a protective effect against future development of chromosomal aberrations.
Melatonin and Circadian Restoration: Epitalon restored the evening level of melatonin and the circadian rhythm of cortisol in the blood serum of senescent monkeys. Human clinical studies show similar restoration of melatonin secretion by the pineal gland in aged individuals.
Cancer Prevention Properties: Epitalon reduced the number of spontaneous tumors and metastases in mice experiments and is speculated to have oncostatic and anti-metastatic properties. It inhibited mammary carcinogenesis and colon carcinogenesis in animal studies.
Potential Mechanism of Action: Epitalon works through multiple pathways:
Activates telomerase enzyme in human somatic cells
Lengthens telomeres beyond the Hayflick limit (replicative senescence threshold)
Decondenses heterochromatin near centromeres in aged cells
Restores youthful gene expression patterns through epigenetic modulation
Stimulates pineal gland to restore melatonin production
Increases antioxidant enzymes (SOD, glutathione peroxidase, glutathione-S-transferase)
Inhibits MMP-9 protein synthesis in aging skin fibroblasts
Extends telomere length (average 33.3% elongation observed)
EPITALON LIFESTYLE SUPPORT
LIFESTYLE SUPPORT:
Circadian rhythm optimization: consistent sleep/wake times
Dark sleeping environment to support natural melatonin
Antioxidant-rich diet (berries, leafy greens, colorful vegetables)
Regular exercise for natural telomerase activation
Stress management for reduced telomere attrition
Limit alcohol and toxin exposure
Quality sleep (7-9 hours) for cellular repair
Social connections and purpose for psychological health
WHAT TO EXPECT:
IMPORTANT: Epitalon works at the cellular/genetic level - effects are gradual!
Improved sleep quality and circadian rhythm within 1-2 weeks
Enhanced energy and well-being over 2-4 weeks
Better stress resilience and mood
Cellular rejuvenation occurs over months (not immediately visible)
Long-term benefits on aging markers and longevity
Best results with consistent cyclic use over years
Effects are preventative and regenerative, not immediately dramatic
EPITALON DOSING + CYCLING
Russian Protocol (Traditional):
Epitalon | BAC water added | Strength mg/mL | Dose | Frequency | Supply |
50 mg Vial | 5 mL | 10mg/mL | 5-10mg | Daily for 10 days | 5-10 cycles |
Cycling: 10 days treatment, then 4-6 months off, repeat 1-2x per year
Subcutaneous or intramuscular injection
Daily injections for 10 consecutive days
Long breaks between cycles (4-6 months)
Typically 1-2 cycles per year for maintenance
EPITALON DOSING + CYCLING
Ukrainian Protocol (Alternative):
Epitalon | BAC water added | Strength mg/mL | Dose | Frequency | Supply |
50 mg Vial | 5 mL | 10mg/mL | 5-10mg | Daily for 20 days | 2.5-5 cycles |
Cycling: 20 days treatment, then 2-3 months off, repeat 2-3x per year
Longer treatment period (20 days)
Subcutaneous or intramuscular injection
Shorter breaks between cycles (2-3 months)
More frequent annual cycles (2-3x per year)
Higher doses (10-20mg) for intensive anti-aging
ALTERNATIVE DOSING APPROACHES:
High-Dose Intensive Protocol:
10-20mg daily for 10-20 days
Reserved for intensive anti-aging interventions
Requires more supply (100-400mg total per cycle)
May produce more pronounced effects
Should be done under medical supervision
Maintenance/Micro-Dosing:
1-2mg daily for 30 days
More frequent but lower dose approach
2-4 cycles per year
Gentler introduction for first-time users
Requires more consistent administration
Biannual Cycling (Most Common):
Cycle 1: January/February (10-20 days)
Off period: 4-6 months

STACKING WITH OTHER COMPOUNDS:
Epitalon + Thymalin: • Both are Russian bioregulators • Thymalin supports immune system • Clinical data shows 2.5-fold mortality reduction when combined • Often used together in anti-aging protocols
Epitalon + NAD+: • Complementary cellular health and energy support • NAD+ supports mitochondria, Epitalon supports telomeres • Can use concurrently or in alternating cycles • Enhanced anti-aging synergy
Epitalon + GHK-Cu: • Telomere support + tissue regeneration • Comprehensive anti-aging approach • Different mechanisms, synergistic benefits • Can be used simultaneously
EPITALON: SCREENING
Epitalon is generally well-tolerated but requires specific considerations.
Screening Questions: • Do you have any known tumor, active cancer or recent cancer history? • Are you pregnant or breastfeeding? • Do you have severe kidney or liver disease? • Are you taking immunosuppressive medications?
Reasons:
Telomerase activation in cancer cells is theoretically concerning (though research suggests Epitalon may actually inhibit tumors)
Safety during pregnancy/breastfeeding not established
Peptide bioregulators require adequate organ function
Immune modulation effects may interact with immunotherapy
Note: Paradoxically, while telomerase activation raises theoretical cancer concerns, Epitalon has demonstrated anti-tumor and anti-metastatic properties in animal studies. It appears to selectively support normal cells while inhibiting malignant cells. However, those with active cancer should avoid use. Epitalon represents one of the most extensively studied longevity peptides from the Russian bioregulator research tradition, with over 35 years of research by Professor Khavinson. While it exists in eight stereoisomeric forms, only the all-L form (natural configuration) has been studied. Quality and purity are critical for safety and efficacy.
